Gorgeous train ride. My question, as an eastern European, when it's called narrow gauge, is it just like European narrow gauge? It seems to be an awfully big train compared with our narrow gauge trains. I know that American standard gauge and Euro are the same width. Secondly, are the two locomotives really needed on that route (because of steepness) or is it just for safety? I know nothing about railways, but I'm a fan.

I encourage everyone to support New Mexico Heritage Rail, because even though they aren't able to run 2926 on the mainline yet, their events are still great and they have lots of other projects they need to work on.
